When Will We Get the Message?

Here's a song poem that I wrote 32 years ago. It's never been recorded, and it's only been sung by me while I'm sitting at home with family. The words have never been more relevant as you will see.

Live His Way

People are troubled everywhere
others just don't seem to care
Jesus wants us all to have His love.
Problems here cause so much pain
still no one will take the blame
Jesus' love comes only from above.

Chorus
Jesus' love will lead us on
Jesus' love will take us home
all we have to do is live His way.

Troubles come our way each day
Trials fall across the way
Jesus' love can help us when we pray.
Satan's snares will never stay
if we'll only kneel and pray
Jesus Christ hears us when we pray.

Take a look around you, watch the news, read a news paper, look at the news on-line, or read a Time magazine and you can't help but be overwhelmed with the problems we face as a country, as small communities, and as individuals. Many of these problems have been brought on by our government, many by individuals, and many by meddling organizations who think they know what is best for everyone in the world. One such organization is the A.C.L.U.
The problem with them is that we sit back and let them do what ever they want to do. A law suit to stop prayer in schools, no Bible reading allowed in schools, no Ten Commandments posted on government property such as our court houses, no nativity scenes on government property, let's even take the nativity out of our Christmas Parades. It goes on and on, and we who profess to be Christians let it happen. When do we say enough is enough and begin to fight for our rights? Everyone else has them, so do we!
It wasn't until Prayer was taken out of our schools that we started seeing all of the violence take place within their confines, and the farther we allow God, and Christian values be pushed into a corner, the worse things get.
You see, even though the problems are created by people and institutions, they all stem from a soul-sickness called sin. Everyone says do what you want to do, nothing is taboo, there is no such thing as sin, but God's word says different. Sin brings pleasure for a season, but in the end, it brings forth death.
Look at the AIDS epidemic. It grows, and grows, and continues to grow; yet, people insist on having their sexual pleasures met. Drug use is bad among middle aged people, but it runs rampant among our teenagers. Drug use causes a multitude of problems in our society such as breaking and entering, theft, robbery, assault and battery, overdose, and even murder, yet we allow drug pushers to roam our streets and communities without fear of reprisal.
When will it all end? When we acknowledge the problem, "SIN". The Bible says "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord... Psalm 33:12, and "Righteousness exalteth a nation; but sin is a reproach to any people. Proverbs 14:34.
The United States has gotten away from what made her a great nation. Belief in God, in God's Word, and in the values and the statutes put forth in the Bible. God is calling her back, and in order to solve the problems we face in America, our government will have to get back to the principles on which she was founded.
Look at the weather around the world, the earthquakes intensifying in strength, tsunamis, famine, and now bird flu is a threat we will have to face one day. God is trying to get our attention! We use to be a great nation, we still are, but we have, and are continuing to go down hill. When will we wake up? It's a lot to think about, but the answer is there, if we'll only acknowledge Him, and "Live His Way."
