Praise the Lord

Here is another song poem that I wrote about 32 years ago. Like the first one, it has not been recorded by anyone. The content of this song poem speaks to everyone in one way or the other, so without further adieu:

Praise the Lord

Jesus Christ He bled and died
that salvation He might bring.
Bore our sins at Calvary
and His praises we shall sing.
He died so that we might be
free from sin and strife.
Ask of Him and you shall see
He will give eternal life.

Chorus
Praise the Lord for His great love
and all of His great deeds.
We can live in righteousness
If His word we'll heed.

We shall leave this sinful world
when Gabriel blows his horn.
The ones who'll leave for Heaven
are the ones who've been reborn.
There we'll find such joy and peace
as we have never known.
A brand new home by the crystal sea
when from this world we've flown.

The Bible tells us:
All have sinned...Romans 3:23
There is punishment for sin...Romans 6:23, 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9
Jesus died for our sins...John 3:16
Jesus will forgive our sins...1 John 1:9

To Be Saved
We must admit we are sinners. Sin is the transgression of God's law, (breaking the Ten Commandments)...1John 3:4.
We must believe Jesus is the son of God, He died for our sins, and rose again.
We must confess our sins before God.
We must repent of our sins. (turn from, denounce, determine to sin no more)
We must confess to others that we are Christians.

When I was growing up I had a friend named Kerry. He was a preacher's kid who lived a block away from me. We played ball together, and rode bikes during the summer. I was at his house one morning until it was time to go home and eat, so as I headed home, he got on his bike to go to town. When I got back to his house after lunch I found he had been in an accident. His front tire hit a rock and his 10 speed went out from under him. When his head hit the road, a car hit him. The car's rear tire ran over his head.
My friend was a Christian. I know I'll see him in Heaven, but will I see you? Kerry had the rest of his life in front of him, but his life was cut short in an instant. That's the way it is sometimes. We are not guaranteed our next breath, much less one more day.
If God is speaking to you, don't put Him off. If you do, you may never get another chance. If you miss your last chance, you'll have to spend eternity in unquenchable, tormenting fire, not because God wants you to, but because you chose to by not choosing God.
Don't Wait Till it's Too Late!
Choose God Now!
